2009 Hairstyles: Predictions, Pictures and Ideas

What’s coming out of Hollywood is so opposite of what New York is projecting for Spring and Summer 2009, that it’s a little hard to predict what will stick with the general population. We’re going to go with Hollywood, though, as we think they have a larger platform with more stars setting trends.

We will, however, say that New York’s strongest trend for 2009 – slicked back hair into buns and braids – will be adopted in some form by Hollywood. That said, our style prediction for 2009 is long and loose hair with curls of some sort. They can be a little tighter or really loose, but Hollywood is pushing away from stick straight hair – finally! So who’s responsible for this shift in style? Lots of young Hollywood starlets are wearing this style, so it’s hard to say.

The cast of The Hills and Gossip Girl are pretty much all on board for the curls. A-listers from the movies are wearing it too, like Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson. You’ll see it on Leona Lewis, Brooke Burke and Paris Hilton. Angelia Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. Enemies and frienemies all over Hollywood are leaning toward this style. Our Picks for 2009′s Hottest Hairstyle Trends * All Photos By PRPhotos.com New 2009 Hairstyle Products What new products will you need to follow this trend? Invest in a great new curling iron or reacquaint yourself with an old one. We suggest buying a new one, though. The new technology that’s out there will save your hair from the old low/medium/high settings that ultimately either didn’t curl your hair or fried it right off your head. And our guess is that your old curling iron probably has product (icky hairspray) buildup on it from forever ago.

Toss it and start over. & You can also invest in a set of hot rollers. They aren’t for old ladies anymore! Another hint? Next time you are chatting up your stylist while getting your hair colored or trimmed, ask them to show you how to blow out your hair with a round brush and which round brush you should use. If you don’t get a pro to show you how it’s done, you will wear yourself out trying to figure it out.

They can also point you in the right direction when it comes to the product you will need to recreate this style. The recommendations they give you will be right for your hairs’ texture, density, and condition. Take in a picture of your favorite celebrity to show the stylist the look you want and they can help you hairlift it.
